ITS is the integration of information and communications technology with transport infrastructure, vehicles and users. By sharing vital information, ITS allows people to get more from transport networks, in greater safety and with less impact on the environment. C-ITS (Cooperative ITS) is the area of ITS that deals with short range, real time information exchange between road users enabling advanced applications and services with a huge potential to increase comfort, mobility and safety.

Applus+ IDIADA can support you in the development and (large-scale) deployment of C-ITS applications and services taking into account all your requirements and objectives:

  • Architecture at different levels: communications, data, services, etc…
  • Backend services: data aggregation
  • Front-end services and applications
  • Multiple technologies: ETSI ITS G5 and Cellular
  • Large scale deployment and evaluation

Applus+ IDIADA can also support you in the integration of C-ITS applications in your service portfolio e.g. including cellular or ETSI ITS G5 enabled services in your current ITS platforms and frameworks.

C-MobILE project:

IDIADA is coordinating the C-MobILE project which aims to demonstrate C-ITS solutions in real-life conditions across Europe based on a common reference architecture. These solutions are provided to the users through an app which integrates services, such as parking availability, road works and hazard warnings, changes in speed limits, GLOSA, approaching emergency vehicles, blind spot and vulnerable road user’s detection.

C-MobILE solutions will be demonstrated over large urban and extra-urban areas in and around the cities of Barcelona, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Copenhagen, Newcastle, North Brabant, Thessaloniki and Vigo. The large-scale deployment of these solutions can pave the way for a standard EU-wide C-ITS network.
