Applus+ IDIADA’s Regulatory Information System

20/12/2017

Applus+ IDIADA’s Regulatory Information System (IRIS) is an online platform allowing access to IDIADA type approval experts’ knowledge of current and forthcoming regulations for motor vehicles at international level.

IDIADA Regulatory Information System was initially used as an in-house tool to manage and organise the wealth of information on type approval among IDIADA’s engineers, and to make that information easily accessible. However, as internal demand for the application grew, it became clear that customers, too, could benefit. IRIS was thus shaped into an accessible and user-friendly platform, allowing customers to tap into the depth of knowledge held by expert type approval engineers.

It is a matter of pride that IDIADA experts are in direct contact with the relevant type approval authorities. As a member of key regulatory working groups (both in the United Nations and the European Commission), IDIADA engineers are involved in working to establish the relevant regulations.

IRIS is thus constantly evolving, and is regularly updated with accurate regulatory information, first-hand interpretations and forthcoming amendments, as well as the most relevant proposals issued from regulatory working groups and official bodies.

In addition to reliable, user-friendly and efficient software, IRIS represents a dedicated customer support mechanism, driven by customer preferences and committed to providing relevant information in an efficient and adaptable manner.

With the growing demands of the global automotive industry, the priority is to provide customers with added-value services from the initial product idea right through the type approval process. This priority led to the development of I.R.I.S. and underpins the support of IDIADA experts as partners in the type approval process.
