EV charging station already available. A new service managed and supervised remotely through software designed internally by IDIADA

28/10/2020

Moving forward to keep on improving our current facilities to offer the latest automotive technologies under strict safety and environmental standards.

We have finished the construction of a new EV charging station which is now equipped with:

    • 2 x 50 kW chargers with CCS2, CHAdeMO and Type2 (43 kW AC) connectors
    • 2 x 175 kW chargers with CCS2 and CHAdeMO connectors which can be combined to offer charging processes up to 350 kW.

This facility will allow the installation of six additional EV chargers for passenger cars and one more for long commercial or heavy-duty vehicles (or two smaller vehicles).

As electric charging processes can be very challenging, especially when it comes to prototypes, in order to offer maximum safety, the facility has been sectorized and a specifically designed fire-fighting system has been installed to guarantee safety under any circumstance and at any time. The charging processes will be constantly supervised to promptly detect any hazardous situation. In the event of a leakage from the vehicle or its batteries, liquid containment systems guarantee the fluid’s correct storage so it can be treated thus taking care of the environment.

The entire service is managed and supervised remotely through software designed internally by IDIADA. This allows the management of all the processes involved before, during and after each charging process. Users of this service will be able to get relevant information on each charging process and get real-time information about the availability and location of these and other chargers.
