Applus+ IDIADA expands its range of services in connected and automated mobility after being appointed by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), mobility regulatory body of the Spanish Government, as a Technological Recognition Centre under the Automated Vehicle Testing Programme (ES-AV).
This designation authorizes IDIADA to carry out the technical assessments and certifications covered by the ES-AV programme for automated vehicles applying for authorization to conduct tests on public roads in Spain.
The ES-AV programme establishes a specific procedure aimed at facilitating the development, validation, and safe deployment of automated driving technologies. Within this framework, Technological Recognition Centres act as independent bodies responsible for verifying and certifying compliance with the technical and safety requirements demanded for conducting tests.
With this designation, IDIADA provides manufacturers, developers, and technology suppliers with a new assessment and certification capability, complementing its expertise in homologation, validation, and the development of advanced assistance and automated driving technologies.
The addition of this capability reinforces IDIADA's position in a strategic area for the future of the automotive industry and responds to the sector's growing need for independent technical bodies to support the safe introduction of automated mobility solutions.
