Applus+ IDIADA is a notified body for the certification of CE marked PPE after obtaining the new ISO17065 accreditation

15/02/2023

Applus+ IDIADA is a Notified Body for the certification of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that assists manufacturers in issuing the CE marking required for the commercialization of PPE in the EU. In accordance with European Accreditation (EA) requirements, our previous ISO17025 accreditation as a Notified Body has been transferred to ISO17065 accreditation.

In line with our commitment to meeting the highest requirements and to continue providing certification services to our clients worldwide, Applus+ IDIADA has successfully obtained ISO17065 accreditation for PPE certification by the Spanish National Accreditation Body (ENAC), under accreditation scope number 219/C-PR425.

The CE marking indicates that a product has been assessed by the manufacturer and is deemed to comply with EU requirements for safety, health, and environmental protection. It is therefore mandatory for products manufactured anywhere in the world that are then placed on the EU market.

In the case of PPE, the independent assessment must be done by a Notified Body.

Below is the list of PPEs that are certified:

    • Helmets for alpine skiers and snowboarders (EN 1077)
    • Impact protection helmets for young children (EN 1080)
