30/06/2025

    Industry leaders join forces

The consortium is made up of leading technology centres, test laboratories, component manufacturers and start-ups specializing in solutions for electric and connected mobility.

A pioneering project to accelerate innovation in electric and connected mobility

The project, which is being carried out by Applus+ IDIADA; CENTRO ZARAGOZA, Instituto de Investigación sobre Vehículos, S.A.; NE-MI Mobility Solutions, S.L.; BILE Comunication, S.L.; PARKUNLOAD, S.L.; FACTUAL Consulting, S.L.; TECHNICA Electronics Barcelona, S. L.; Smart Mobility Solutions, S.L.; KAPS Management Group, S.L.; Fostering Mobility, S.L.U. and the Galician Automotive Technology Centre (CTAG) is an ambitious initiative aimed at promoting the digital transformation of the mobility sector.

Under the name "PERTE VEC PP22 - Digital solutions and data for advanced mobility", this primary project seeks to generate knowledge and develop innovative tools to accelerate the digitalization of processes, fill existing technological gaps and lay the foundations for the deployment of new data-driven services.

An industry in the midst of transformation

The automotive industry is undergoing profound changes driven by electrification, connectivity, and the development of autonomous vehicles. These technological revolutions are transforming not only the vehicles themselves, but also the design, manufacturing, testing and service delivery processes associated with the mobility sector.

New challenges related to massive data management, advanced information analysis, simulation using digital twins and the application of artificial intelligence are emerging.

    Project objectives

The main objectives of the project are research to fill technological gaps, optimize processes, reduce development time and costs, and drive new data-driven mobility services.

To address these technological challenges, the project has been structured in three main work packages:

    1. Digital solutions: Design of ICT tools for the digitization and automation of operational and business processes. It seeks to generate knowledge and execute an action plan to:

    • Design and implement data management processes and tools.
    • Promote new mobility services such as shared mobility.
    • Meet the needs of agents through digital transformation.

    2. Artificial Intelligence: Research and development of pioneering AI applications in areas such as test data analysis, predictive simulation, or subjective evaluation. The main objective is to investigate the improvement of productivity through applications based on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Some fields of action are calculation optimization, process automation, subjective and objective evaluation, predictive maintenance, and development of advanced functionalities.

    3. Digital twins: Creation of databases, virtual models and digital twins that replicate the behaviour of vehicles, components and driving environments. Research on data platforms related to vehicle models and performance, digital environments, driver profiles and electric charging processes, among other fields, belong to this work package.

    Expected impact

This pioneering initiative is expected to drive a qualitative leap in innovation in the sector and place Spain at the global forefront in the development of new technologies for sustainable mobility.

Thanks to the application of advanced digital solutions, the industry will gain in efficiency, competitiveness, and environmental sustainability. It will also lay the foundations for the deployment of connected services that will revolutionize the mobility of the future.
