C-MobILE

C-MobILE project aims to allow the large-scale deployment of new Intelligent Transport Systems across Europe

IDIADA is coordinating the C-MobILE project which aims to demonstrate C-ITS solutions in real-life conditions across Europe based on a common reference architecture. These solutions are provided to the users through an app which integrates services, such as roadworks and hazard warnings, changes in speed limits, GLOSA, approaching emergency vehicles, blind spot and vulnerable road user detection, parking availability, etc.

C-MobILE solutions will be demonstrated over large urban and extra-urban areas in and around the cities of Barcelona, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Copenhagen, Newcastle, North Brabant, Thessaloniki and Vigo. The large-scale deployment of these solutions can pave the way for a standard EU-wide C-ITS network.

Potential benefits are the possible reduction of the number of injuries and deaths on the roads, smoother traffic flows, shorter journey times and lower environmental impacts.

From an economic perspective, C-MobILE aims to improve transport operations and contribute to more sustainable activities and economies of scale, including at local level. Transport technologies and infrastructure, primarily for the public sector, will also increase return on investment, while at the micro level, it will develop economically viable products, services and applications, which can be commercially exploited

The app offering those services in Barcelona can be downloaded for free here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cmobile.bcn
